Blog 6
On Tuesday, I started off the day meeting with Jaime Irick to discuss our interview that is scheduled for Thursday. I then made all of the fixes to my podcast draft and was able to make a basically finished version of it. I then started working on the covert art. There were many ways I could do it, but I decided to use Canva, which I had used in class before. For this, Canva was much better to use than Photoshop because there were templates to edit, and if I tried making mine from scratch, it would make the process even harder. I created a few different ones, so I had options to pick from and could see what my family liked best because they’re my test group. On Wednesday, I sent the podcast draft and questions to the person that works for Jim Collins because she requested it. I then had a check-in with Mrs. Mullen and Mr. Moulthrop about my project. After the meeting, I started to work on my draft for my podcast with Mark Shapiro, which involved writing a draft of the intro, background, and outro, and then I was able to record it. I already had most of the interview edited, so now I need to put everything together and make any final edits.
I want to make sure I answer some of the questions from my previous blogs. I plan on posting my first episode on one of the last days of intensives, and from then on, I will post once a week. I hope the Hawken community can listen, and I hope as many people can listen as possible. Hopefully, this podcast can be something big, and many can learn from it. I have finally decided on a name for my podcast. It is The Leadership Lab: Lessons from Today’s Best Leaders. It took a while to pick the right name and finally be happy with one. I came up with some ideas, and so did my dad and mom. There were probably about 30 to pick from, and I kept going through and eliminating some, and eventually, there were three left, and I picked. Throughout my podcast, there have been many common themes. Some of those include: self-awareness and knowing your values, being authentic, and always learning, but the rest I am not going to spoil.
